SERPWatcher Review

What Is SERPWatcher?

SERPWatcher is a ranking tracking tool that monitors daily keyword rankings for a website to track the overall progress in the search engine results pages. SERPWatcher can monitor both desktop and mobile search results for any domain.

What Does SERPWatcher Do?

SERPWatcher does rank tracking for websites to help site owners measure the daily performance of their keyword rankings in the SERPs. SERPWatcher reports the ranking positions, estimated visits, top gainers and losers, keyword position flow, and distribution.

Average SERPWatcher Ratings

Based on the customer reviews, SERPWatcher has received the following average ratings:

  • Overall Rating: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 9/10
  • Customer Service: 10/10

You can read sample customer reviews with both positive and negative comments towards the bottom of this review guide.

SERPWatcher Pros and Cons

SERPWatcher Pros and Cons

Below is a list of the top pros and cons of SERPWatcher. As a user of this keyword tracking tool, I have found these to be the most common advantages and disadvantages of the product.

Pros

  • One of the most user-friendly keyword trackers on the market.
  • Can track both desktop and mobile search results.
  • Can quickly import keywords into SERPWatcher from KWFinder.
  • Has a report feature that can send you weekly or monthly reports of your tracked keywords.
  • An alert can be set up to send you an email when keywords enter or leave the top 10 or 100 SERP positions.
  • Has a tracking feature for Google My Business Profile listings.
  • Automatically detects if there’s a Featured Snippet in the SERP for a given term and highlights it if your website is ranking in that position.
  • Shows the top gainers and losers per day.
  • View your current dominance index and compare it over time. The higher the value out of a total of 100, the more you dominate the organic traffic
  • You can track unlimited domains and split the keyword quota for your membership plan amongst them.
  • Can tag keywords to put them into category lists.
  • Easily share the rank tracking reports with others.
  • Fully integrated with LinkMiner, SiteProfiler, and SERPChecker to quickly perform additional SEO analysis for any tracked keyword or URL.

Cons

  • Desktop and mobile SERP data is analyzed separately and requires one tracking credit per keyword. For example, if you want to track 50 keywords for desktop searches and 50 keywords for mobile searches, then you would need 100 credits available in your account.
  • Cannot adjust the time of day for rank tracking updates. It happens at the same time each day.
  • Estimated traffic data is not 100% accurate.
  • Cannot track more than 1,500 keywords on the highest membership plan.
  • Cannot be purchased separately from the other Mangools SEO tools. SERPWatcher is part of the Mangools SEO suite that contains 5 SEO tools in one software.
SERPWatcher Features

SERPWatcher Features

This section of the SERPWatcher review will cover the top SERPWatcher features you can use for keyword rank tracking. As you’ll discover below, this software has a number of high-quality features that make tracking keywords fast and easy to do for any website, which is why I highly recommend it.

You can try SERPWatcher for FREE here.

Track Unlimited Domains

The top feature of SERPWatcher is that you can track as many domains as you want. You can also spread your keyword tracking quota across those domains. This is a good feature to use if you have multiple websites to track or you want to track a competitor’s website for specific organic keywords.

SERPWatcher Tracking Setup

Different Tracking Locations

Another good SERPWatcher feature is that you can track keyword rankings in certain countries. Currently, you can choose between:

  • Anywhere
  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Germany
  • Spain

Search Platforms

SERPWatcher also allows you to choose between two platforms to track daily keyword rankings: Desktop devices and Mobile devices. If you want to track both devices for the same website, then you’ll need to set up two separate ranking tracking reports.

Google My Business Profile Tracking

If you have a local business, you can have SERPWatcher automatically detect if your Google My Business Profile is ranking in the Google Map Packs. On the initial keyword tracking setup page, you can click on the “Advanced Settings” button to bring up the search field to find your business listing.

Daily Keyword Tracking Updates

SERPWatcher tracks your website’s keywords on a daily basis and reports the following metrics:

  • Keyword: This is the tracked keyword.
  • Rank: This is the current daily ranking position.
  • Change: This reports the change in the daily position.
  • Average Position: This gives you the average position for the selected timeframe.
  • Best Position: This reports the best ranking position the target keyword has had since the tracking was enabled.
  • Search Volume: This displays the average monthly search volume for the search term.
  • Estimated Visits: This gives an estimate of how many visits your ranking URL gets based on its position.

Performance Index

The Performance Index (PI) feature of SEPRWatcher is a metric that tracks your ranking performance in Google based on the overall positions of your website and search volumes of tracked keywords. PI is based on a scale from 0 to 100 with higher numbers indicating better performance in the SERPs.

SERPWatcher Performance Index

Top Gainers and Losers

A nice SERPWatcher feature that allows you to get a quick overview of the most important rank changes for your website is the top gainers and losers boxes. This section shows you which keywords increased and decreased the most during the selected timeframe.

SERPWatcher Top Gainers and Losers

Estimated Visits

The Estimated Visits section of SEPRWathcer shows you the potential organic search traffic your website could be receiving based on the tracked keywords. This metric is based on the average click-through rate of the keywords rankings in the #1 and #2 positions. Therefore, it’s not completely accurate.

SERPWatcher Estimated Visits Feature

Desktop/Mobile Switcher

At the top of the SERPWatcher dashboard is a dropdown menu to switch between Desktop searches and Mobile searches. If you only have one search platform being tracked, then SERPWatcher will show a message asking if you want to clone the current tracking to a new report. You must have enough available keyword credits available in your quota for the cloning process to work. Otherwise, you can copy keywords over manually to the new search platform tracker.

Timeframe Selector

SERPWatcher allows you to analyze the tracking data for any period of time. You can use the timeframe selector to switch between today, last 7 days, last 30 days, last 90 days, entire history, or custom dates.

SERPWatcher Timeframe Selector

Keyword Position Flow and Distribution

Under the top gainers and losers section of SERPWatcher are the keyword position flow and keyword position distribution charts. The position flow box displays the number of tracked keywords that went up, went down, and remained unchanged. The position distribution box shows you the number and percentage of tracked keywords in the top 1, top 3, top 10, top 20, top 100, and below 100 ranking positions. See how many keywords rank #1, in the top 3, top 10, top 20 or top 100. A colored graph is also included for a visual representation of that data.

Feature Snippet Tracking

There’s an advanced feature of SERPWatcher that shows you which keywords your tracking has a Featured Snippet in Google. It also indicates if your website is ranking in that position by highlighting the Featured Snippet icon.

SERPWatcher Featured Snippet Tracking

Keyword Tracking Filters

SERPWatcher has a useful feature for filtering keyword tracking data. This allows you to set up parameters for the types of keywords you want to see and analyze in the dashboard.

Filter options include:

  • Current position
  • Search volume
  • Estimated visits
  • Matching URL
  • Include keywords
  • Exclude keywords
  • Map pack tracking
  • Featured snippets
SERPWatcher Filter Feature

Tag Management

One of the most powerful features of SERPWatcher is the tag management system. With tags, you can categorize the tracked keywords so you can quickly analyze a set of search terms without having to look for them individually in the list. For example, if you have a website with three categories of blog posts (e.g., guitars, bass, and drums), then you could tag each keyword so you can filter the list to see only certain types of keywords.

SERPWatcher Tags

Share Tracking

If you want to share a SERPWatcher tracking report with someone else, then you can easily do that by clicking on the “Share Tracking” button at the top of the dashboard. Aunique URL will be generated for the person to view the dashboard with view-only access.

SERPWatcher Share Tracking

Reports and Alerts

Another great aspect of SERPWatcher is that you can set up reports and alerts to automatically send you email notifications. The report function lets you get a weekly or monthly report of your tracked keywords while the alert function can notify you when tracked keywords enter or leave the top 10 or 100 SERP positions.

SERPWatcher Pricing

SERPWatcher by Mangools has three pricing plans that can be billed in monthly installments or paid as an annual subscription to save 40% off the yearly cost. Each plan includes the same SERPWatcher features; however, there are certain limits put on the keyword data that can be tracked as shown in the table below.

Also, keep in mind that SERPWatcher comes bundled with 4 other SEO tools in the Mangools SEO suite: KWFinder, LinkMiner, SERPChecker, and SiteProfiler. See my complete Mangools Review to learn more about these extra tools.

In my experience, the Basic Mangools Plan is good for most bloggers, niche site owners, and affiliate marketers who want to track a moderate number of keywords. The Premium and Agency plans are best for freelancers, small to medium enterprises, and SEO agencies that often have to monitor many more keywords or multiple websites at the same time.

SERPWatcher Money Back Guarantee

Mangools offers a 48-hour refund policy for SERPWatcher. You can claim a refund by contacting the company at info@mangools.com or through the live chat feature. I think this is a fair refund policy because Mangools does give you a free trial to test out the SERPWatcher tool for 10 full days before purchase. There’s no question that SERPWatcher is worth it for anyone who wants an affordable SEO keyword rank tracking that can give them accurate data to make better digital marketing decisions to improve their website’s search engine optimization strategy.

  • Niche website owners who are on a budget and want access to an affordable keyword tracking tool.
  • Affiliate marketers who want a keyword rank tracking tool that’s integrated with other SEO analysis software.
  • Freelancers who offer SEO services but do not need the advanced capabilities of a tool like Ahrefs or Semrush.
  • Small to medium-sized enterprise businesses that need a reliable keyword tracking tool for an in-house digital marketing team.
  • SEO agencies that want the ability to add their company name, logo, and email to share tracking reports with their clients (i.e. whitelabeling).
  • Anyone who also wants access to 4 other powerful SEO tools for keyword research, backlink analysis, competitor website analysis, and SERP analysis without having to pay separately for each software.

  • Moz Pro

In my experience, SERPWatcher has everything you need as a blogger, niche site owner, affiliate marketer, moderate size enterprise business, or an SEO agency that works with smaller clients.
