Thin Content Definition & Meaning

What Is Thin Content?

Thin content is content that has little or no value for the user, including copied, repetitive, scraped, and sparse content. This content has nothing to do with content length and only refers to content quality.

Publishing thin content on a website is not beneficial for users, wastes the crawl budget, and may cause a manual action penalty. Thin content that is mass-produced or only created to manipulate search engine rankings delivers a bad user experience, which is why search engines try to keep this type of content out of their index.
