Local Pack Definition & Meaning

What Is A Local Pack?

The local pack is a section at the top of Google’s search results that displays 3 local businesses when a query has local search intent. Also known as the map pack or 3-pack.

The local pack section located at the top of the Google search results page displays the business’s locations, ratings, and contact data. The benefits of being featured in the local pack include higher organic search traffic, increased local traffic volume, and gaining an advantage over the local competition.

In order to appear in the local pack, businesses must have a Google Business Profile, favorable reviews, proximity to the searcher’s location, and relevance for the localized search terms.
