Hey everyone, welcome to the training
0:02
I'm excited to share with you three simple SEO tricks you can use to increase your rankings
0:07
and traffic for your website. And these tips are going to work no matter what type of blog or website you have and no matter
0:14
what industry or niche you're in. So the stuff I'm going to teach you is going to help you get better positions in Google so
0:19
you can get more traffic to your stuff. Now, I want to encourage you because I know how it frustrating it can be when you put your
0:27
heart and soul into writing your content and publishing it online and not getting those high rankings
0:33
That can just, you know, just basically sucks. It's like you put all your time into this content
0:37
and it's only on the page three or four, maybe not even the top 100 of Google. And that just isn't
0:43
good, you know. So I'm going to share this information with you so that you can get out of that rut
0:48
get your old content to rank higher and generate more sales and more leads for your business or
0:52
just get the word about word out about your content. And also give you an
0:57
action plan so that you can write new content so it has a better chance of ranking from day one
1:02
So before we get into those three tips, I first just want to tell you a little bit about who I am
1:07
so you know where I'm coming from and what you can expect. So my name is Stephen Hockman and I have
1:13
been doing SEO and been in affiliate marketing for about 15 years. When I first got started
1:19
I made $2.18 in my first month off of a free blogging platform just by putting in some simple SEO
1:26
strategies. Now, fast forward to you today, I'm actually a multiple six-figure earner from using
1:32
SEO and affiliate marketing. I've written a book on affiliate marketing where I share some of my
1:36
best tips on how to increase conversion rates. You can find that on Amazon if you care to look
1:42
that up. And I also run a website called SEOchatter.com where I give away free daily SEO
1:50
tips and news to help people up their game with search engine optimization. So I've been doing this a
1:56
long time, I earn a living through this. And so the tips I'm going to share with you are actually
2:01
things that I do on every web page I create and I use to improve the rankings and traffic for any
2:08
page that's underperforming in Google right now. So this is stuff that's actually proven that I use
2:14
on a daily basis. So let's go ahead and jump into the meat of this, which is why you're here
2:19
which is the training. So in this workshop, we're going to talk about three things. And those three things are
2:25
number one is I'm going to teach you a couple on-page SEO tricks you can use to give Google the
2:31
signal it needs to rank your content for what you wanted to rank for. I'm going to teach you how to add in secondary keywords so you can actually expand how many
2:40
keywords your content ranks for. That'll give you more traffic. And I'm also going to explain to you how to give Google the content it wants to see so that
2:49
you have a fighting chance to get on page one because you just can't produce anything
2:52
It has to be written in a certain way. So, to recap, we're going to talk about some on-page SEO
2:57
We're going to talk about adding more keywords to the page, and we're going to talk about how to write that content so you serve Google what it wants to see
3:04
Okay, number one, on-page SEO. There's three basic things you need to do here
3:09
You need to pick one keyword that you want that page to rank for
3:13
and you need to use it in certain areas on the page. Now, there's three places that are considered the three kings when it comes to on-page optimization
3:21
And those are the meta-title. the H1 tag and the URL. If you put your target keyword in those three positions
3:30
you're going to have a better chance of ranking on the first page of Google because those are the most powerful on-page spots to put your keyword
3:37
So any web page you have right now that's underperforming, if it's not on page one, go look at that web page and see if you have your target keyword in those three spots
3:46
If you don't, you need to put it in there right now. And you should start to see some increase in rankings once Google recalls that page
3:53
Now, here's the thing, though, those are just three spots, okay? And if you're in a competitive market, you're going to find that your competitors are already doing that because they know SEO
4:02
They may be more advanced than you. And so there's actually about a total of about 20 different areas you can actually put your keyword on the page to help it rank higher in Google because you're giving Google more signals that this is what the page should rank for
4:17
And so I'm not going to get into all 20 right now. I will actually explain a little bit later more about the other 17, so stick with this video because you're going to want to hear that
4:26
So let's next jump into number two, which is the second SEO trick, which is you need to add secondary keywords to your page
4:35
And this is going to help you in multiple ways. What I mean by this is when you write a piece of content, you're generally just targeting one keyword phrase, right
4:44
Or maybe just a few. But over time, what you're going to find is that Google will actually start to rank
4:49
your page for many different keywords. Some you didn't even think about and some are just variations
4:55
of that keyword And so there this whole spectrum of keywords that any web page can rank for So if you don optimize it properly in the beginning you may only rank for about a dozen keywords But once you use this trick
5:08
you can actually start to expand your keyword range to maybe rank for hundreds, if not thousands of keywords
5:13
And so I'm going to go through and explain to you how to do this. Now, to get this done
5:17
you actually have to have your site connected to Google Search Console, which is a free platform that anybody can sign up for
5:23
And if you have it, great. But if not, go ahead and just type in, Google, Google Search Console, connect your site, and then wait about 30 days, because it takes
5:32
about 30 days to get the data from that tool so that you can start using this step
5:36
But if you've got it, great, I'm going to explain to you what you can do. So what Google Search Console does is it will actually report to you many different things
5:44
about your site, but the most important thing is, is it will actually tell you what keywords
5:49
your pages are ranking for. And you don't have to pay for this information
5:52
This stuff is free. So when people try to sell you some, you know, expensive SEO tool like ATRFs or something like that, you know, to get this information you don't need it
6:01
Just use the free information Google is giving you because you can use it to actually boost your rankings and traffic
6:06
So here's what you're going to do. You're going to log into Google Search Console. You're going to click on the performance tab
6:12
And then you're going to go through and you're going to actually highlight and select the individual page on your site that's not ranking as high as you want or not getting as much traffic as you want
6:22
And once you click on that URL, Google Search Console will then list out the keywords that it is showing your web page for in Google
6:32
So you may have been targeting one specific keyword, but you're going to start to see a whole list of other related keywords that Google thinks that page is about
6:41
Okay? But here's the true power of that part. Google will actually show you the number of impressions of how many times your URL has been shown in their search results
6:51
And they'll also show you the average position that your URL is ranking for that page for those keywords
6:59
So what you're going to find is you may not be getting a lot of rankings or traffic, but then you can find out which keywords are the ones that are struggling and you can improve that
7:08
Okay, so if you're using a certain keyword and you want to have to rank higher, here's where this tip is really going to pay off
7:14
What you want to do is you want to look for the keywords that have a high number of impressions and a low ranking position
7:21
The reason that's important is because Google's showing you that, hey, there's a large number of people that are looking for this keyword
7:28
And you're getting a lot of impressions for that keyword, but you're just not ranking very high. So that shows that there's a high search intent, a high search volume for this keyword
7:36
And even in the low positions, you're still getting traffic. But what you want to look for is you want to look for those keywords that have high impressions, but you're ranking between positions 11 to 30
7:46
And what that means is, is that you're on page 2 to 3 of Google, and it only will take probably a few extra things you can do on page to boost that up to page one
7:57
Okay? And I'll explain to you what to do there. So when you're writing a piece of content, you're usually targeting one specific keyword
8:04
But once you get this list of keywords, you're going to see different variations in other keywords that you probably weren't even thinking about
8:11
And so Google's basically showing you that, hey, we think you should rank for all these other keywords
8:16
but you may not even be using them on the page. And this is where the true power of this tip comes in
8:22
You want to look through that list and find the keywords that you're not using on the page currently
8:26
and then just add them in. And add each one about three to four times
8:31
Just put it spread out throughout the content. Try one in the introduction, one in the middle, one in the end, for example
8:38
And so once you take those keywords and put them on the page, you should start to see an increase in rankings for those keywords
8:44
Now, if some of the keywords are too similar, like let's say just one or two words are different or it's just a rearrangement, you know
8:50
don't do that every time. But just find the ones that are closely related that are just kind of variations that have
8:55
additional words. So I'll just give you a quick example of how this trick worked for me and how it can apply
9:01
for your situation. I had an affiliate buying guide. I was trying to rank for the keyword best oil heaters because I wanted to make money
9:09
when selling oil heaters. Well, this page was stuck in the 20s
9:13
I think the highest I was getting was maybe position number 20. and it was just stuck, stuck, stuck
9:18
So after a month or two, I actually went into Google Search Console, did this exact step I just told you about
9:24
and I actually found additional keywords the page was ranking for that it didn't put on the page
9:28
It just didn't occur to me. So there were words like room oil heater, electric oil heater
9:33
portable oil heater, and just variations of that stuff. So the only things I were really using on the page
9:38
were best oil heater, best oil filled heater, etc. But I wasn't using those variations without the word best
9:44
So I went in and I added all those different keywords I just mentioned about three or four times And here what happened That page went from the 20s up to number nine on the first page of Google for that main best oil heater keyword that I was targeting just by adding in those secondary keywords But it didn just stop there That page started ranking for hundreds of other keywords So I went from just having this small little section of ranking on Google to having this huge
10:11
breadth where this page started getting a ton of traffic. And so it got traffic from tons of other related keywords
10:17
So this tip is really going to work for you. If you have existing content, you need to go in and you need to use Google Search Console
10:23
to extract that free information and then use that to get those secondary keywords to put on your page
10:28
You do that, you should start to see an increase in your rankings. But what do you do if it's a new piece of content
10:34
Well, how are you going to get that information on what to write? Well, there's actually a really cheap SEO tool that you can invest in that will give you this information up front
10:42
And I don't want to sell you a tool right now. You know, this is a free training, so I'm not going to go into the full details of that
10:48
I'll explain a little bit about it more towards end of the video if you want to take advantage of that tool
10:53
But right now, just use what is at your fingertips for free. So now let's move on to the third SCO
10:58
tip you can use to increase rankings and traffic. Now, if you only do the first two things I
11:03
told you about, you should see some increase, but it's only going to get you so far. And the reason
11:08
that is is because you actually need to serve up content that Google wants to see. You know
11:13
just doing on-page SEO and adding keywords to a page is only going to get you so far. You know
11:18
you can't expect to rank a 300-word, you know, blog post in a very competitive niche when
11:25
everyone else is writing 2,000, 3,000 words or longer, and including all this additional information
11:30
So you need to give Google what it wants to see. And to find that out is actually very simple
11:35
It's right under your nose and you probably didn't even know it. And so when I learned this, it just blew me away
11:41
And it took my content to another level. And when I apply all these tips, lots of times I will start ranking on the first page of
11:48
Google instantly after publishing, if not maybe within a few weeks at most a month or so
11:53
So you're going to want to pay attention to this trick right here. So do the first two tips and then do this too
11:58
Here's what you want to do is you want to go to Google and you want to search for your main keyword you want that page to rank for
12:04
Okay? Let's say that I'm trying to rank for best SEO tools, for example
12:09
I would go to Google, type it in, and then I would just open up the first five pages that are ranking in new browser tabs
12:16
And then I would just start looking at those pages. And here's the thing is Google wants certain type of content on the page to rank on the first page of Google
12:25
because it has all these different signals it sees and it knows that, hey, there's certain
12:29
things its user wants to see. And it does all this different A-B testing behind the scenes to be able to find that out
12:36
But if you open those first five pages, you're going to get the answer. So, for example, if I did Best SEO Tools, I'm going to see that that's a list of a article
12:43
where it's just these five competitors are doing, hey, best SEO tools for current year
12:50
or my pick for the Best SEO Tools. and then it's just a list of the 10 best tools
12:55
And I'll have the name of the tool, a description, an image, and a link to go try that tool
13:01
That's what those pages have. And there's also other things like maybe, you know
13:06
they might be talking about comparisons of those tools. They have a comparison table, et cetera
13:11
But what you do is, is you want to see where the overlap is because there's always going to be an overlap
13:16
There's going to be certain elements on those five pages that all those competitors are using
13:21
and you want to find out what those are, and then you want to use them on your page too
13:26
So let me give you another example. Let's say you were just writing an informational article
13:30
like how to bake a potato, you know, and let's say you're like
13:34
oh, I'm just going to write this really short 200-word post that just says, hey, here's how to bake a potato
13:39
you put it in the oven at this temperature, you know, and you let it go for this amount of time, you know
13:44
and then I hope to rank. Well, that's not going to work because Google wants to see certain things on the page
13:49
So if you open up the first five competitors, When you do a search for how to bake a potato, you're going to see that they start with an image of the baked potato, and then they go into an ingredients list, and then they go through step by step, you know, five different steps on how to bake this potato
14:05
And then they also explain other things like tips and tricks on how to bake that potato. So they answer questions like, you know, should you wrap it in foil
14:14
How do you ensure you have a crispy outside on that potato? How to keep it soft? Other garnishes that go with the potato
14:21
you know, can you bake the potato slower? Can you bake it faster? What's going to happen if you
14:25
do that? Etcetera, et cetera, et cetera. These are the different things that will overlap and you'll
14:29
see them by doing that quick competitor research. So you then know that if your page is underperforming
14:35
in Google, it's probably lacking that information that the other pages have. So all you have to do
14:40
is just find that information, add it to your page, and then you will start to see ranking boosts in
14:46
Google because your content is now meeting that search intent as well as your content. You're
14:51
competitors but it does it doesn't just stop there there's actually some key elements you
14:57
want to look for on the page that can actually help you to rank better and faster and actually get an edge over your competitors and so I talk about that in just a second But what I want to do is I just want to encourage you to try these three SEO tips
15:12
that I just shared with you for free because they are going to help you to get more rankings
15:17
and traffic for your web pages no matter what industry you're in or no matter what type of content
15:22
you're writing. This stuff does work. And so if there's anything you do today, you should try those things
15:27
But here's the thing. this is just scratching the surface. And so I want to present an opportunity to you
15:32
If you want to go deeper and you actually want to see how to do these things in real time
15:37
and look over my shoulder and understand how to put these things in the place
15:41
I actually have a video training course where I show you all the different steps that you need to use
15:47
and how to maximize the SEO value out of all these different things I talk about today
15:52
So if you want to go more in depth and actually get the training, I can give that to you
15:58
And inside this training, here's what you're going to find out. You're going to find out those 20 different spots that you can put your keyword
16:04
And I'm going to go one by one and show you how to put your keyword in a strategic way in those spots
16:10
Because you can't just put it in there and hope to rank. You know, you can't do it just any wishy-washy way
16:15
It has to be a specific way. But here's what the real value is on learning where those 20 spots are
16:21
Because once you start putting your keyword in those positions, you know, you're going to find that you may get towards page
16:28
if not on page one, but it's going to be just that small edge of doing one extra thing that's
16:34
going to lead to you being better optimized than your competitors. And once you know that secret
16:38
you can start to jump past them in the ranks of Google. So it's good to know what those 20
16:43
spots are. And again, I'm going to teach you those so that you know every place you can put your
16:48
keyword. I'm also going to go through and walk you through Google Search Console, step by step
16:53
on how we extract those secondary keywords. And I'll give you some tips and tricks along the way
16:58
so that you can get the maximum value out of that tool for free
17:02
And then if you're interested, I'll also show you how to use this really dirt cheap SEO tool
17:07
that's half the price, if not less, than the expensive ones like H-Refs
17:11
that you can get all the information you need to get those secondary keywords from the beginning
17:16
so that you can write your content perfectly from the start. You won't have to wait 30, 60 days to get that data from Google to then adjust it
17:25
You'll be able to craft and write content from the very beginning, that has all those keywords going forward so that you have the best chance of ranking
17:33
But then that's not all. I'm also going to go through just like step three where I'm going to
17:38
do some keyword searches for some keyword terms and then go through and do the competitor ysis
17:45
in real time so that you can see what I'm doing to find that information that needs to be on my
17:51
page to make it rank in Google. And I'm also going to point out the very specific places that you
17:55
need to pay attention to because those areas are the most important places that have the SEO
18:01
value to help your page rank. You know, just getting the overlapping content is just the first step of the process
18:07
And if you do that, you're going to see some results, but there's some other steps along the way that you also can do to really maximize that value
18:14
So if that sounds interesting to you, then check below the video because there's a link to that bundle
18:19
And this course is over 20 videos. You're going to get an individual video for every one of those 20, um, 8,000
18:25
email spots and you're going to get videos for how to use Google Search Console, that special
18:30
keyword tool I'm talking about, also how to watch me over my shoulder as I do computer ysis
18:37
and more. So if you want to go deeper, if you want to get the specific training that I've learned
18:42
and developed as a proven system over the last 15 years of doing SEO, then I encourage you to
18:48
click that link. Because this content is going to basically take your SEO game to another level
18:53
