Job Summary

In this social media marketer role, you will have the opportunity to support the social media strategy and execution for the SEO Chatter brand, including the creation of social graphics, drafting post captions, posting content to social media platforms, and finding ways to maximize reach and engagement.

We are looking for someone who has a great eye for design using the Canva platform to create visually engaging infographics that promote blog posts from the SEO Chatter website. You must also be able to work well independently with limited supervision and meet strict weekly deadlines for posting content on the SEO Chatter social media accounts. This is a part-time, freelance, remote work position and is open to candidates located anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Create 5-7 new social media graphics per week using Canva.
  • Identify the key concepts from a set of blog posts and translate those ideas into visually appealing infographics using a standardized template for use on all social media accounts.
  • Write captions for each social media post that encourages and increases engagement.
  • Post infographics and captions to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Pinterest.
  • Maintain consistency for the SEO Chatter brand through visual design, tone of voice, and style.
  • Define the most important social media KPIs to track for each platform.
  • Measure and report on the weekly success of each social media post.
  • Suggest ways for improving social media graphics and captions based on engagement data.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of Canva.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to summarize the key points from a blog post.
  • Portfolio of work that can be reviewed which consists of social media infographics.
  • Demonstrable success with social media caption writing.
  • Demonstrable success in social media marketing (ideally with supporting KPIs).
  • Desire for long-term freelance work.
  • Familiar with posting graphics and captions on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Pinterest.
  • Familiar with scheduling social media content on various platforms.
  • Organized multitasker with good time-management skills.
  • Critical thinker with problem-solving skills.
  • Has strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with self-confidence, positive attitude, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Must have own personal computer, high-bandwidth network access, and mobile phone.

Education Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree In Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, Public Relations, or a related field (Preferred)

Experience Qualifications

  • Graphic Design: 1 year (Required)
  • Social Media Marketing: 1 year (Required)
  • Writing: 1 year (Required)
